This blank is called Angry Green Sea, and it earns the name. I cast it in Alumilite Clear Slow using two different color‑shifting greens. One moves through deep and light greens. The other shifts into blue when the light hits it right. I added mica Jade green for depth and a silver swirl that’s been softened with a touch of white. The whole thing moves like storm water rolling over itself.

Each blank measures 13/16" × 13/16" × 4 15/16", which is just a little shorter than the usual 5 1/4". For most pen kits this is no problem, but if you’re working with something long or unusual, double‑check your tube lengths.

I have four blanks, each numbered. Because of the casting process, no two will ever match exactly. The proportions of green, blue shift, jade, and silver will vary. That’s part of the charm. You’re getting a one‑off every time.

Turn it thin. Turn it bold. Either way, this blank has movement.

Quality Guarantee & Returns

  • Every blank I sell is hand‑cast and individually inspected before it leaves the shop. Because these blanks are made one at a time, each one will have its own personality. Variations in color distribution, swirl patterns, mica density, wood figure, embedded materials, and overall appearance are expected and intentional. These differences are part of the design and are not considered defects.

Whether the blank is made from resin, stabilized wood, hybrid materials, or any combination of pigments, dyes, powders, or additives, the same standard applies: it must be structurally sound and ready for the lathe.

Even with careful casting and inspection, internal issues can occasionally hide beneath the surface. If you encounter a material defect that prevents the blank from being turned safely or successfully — such as an uncured pocket, a deep internal void, or a structural weakness that causes the blank to fail under normal turning conditions — I will make it right.

    This guarantee covers:

    • material defects that compromise the blank

    • structural failures during normal turning

    • uncured resin pockets

    • hidden voids not visible externally

    • stabilization failures in wood blanks

    This guarantee does not cover:

    • Damage caused by aggressive tool use

    • Overheating from dull tools or excessive speed

    • Cracks from overtightening hardware

    • Blowouts caused by improper drilling technique

    • Expected artistic variation in color, pattern, or swirl distribution

    • Natural wood movement or figure changes that occur during turning

If you believe your blank qualifies, contact me with:

    • The blank number (if applicable)

    • A clear photo of the issue

    • A short description of what happened during turning

Once verified, I will offer either:

    • A replacement blank of equal value, or

    • A refund for the defective blank

My goal is simple: you should feel confident putting any blank from my shop on your lathe. If the material lets you down, I won’t.
